Staff greet each child by name and buddies meet new joiners at the gate. Simple routines settle the class quickly so learning starts calm and on time. Families arriving mid-year get the same scaffolded start, with teachers checking in on how things are going.

A short class meeting sets the tone for the day—how we’re feeling, what’s ahead, and how we’ll support one another. It’s social-emotional learning in plain sight, not an add-on. Children leave the circle focused and ready.

A real-world question anchors the unit and pulls literacy, science and social studies together. Teachers model, then step back, so pupils inquire, test ideas and explain their thinking. The result is independent learners who know why today’s work matters.

A movement break outside resets bodies and minds. Teachers use our outdoor spaces for quick challenges—measuring, sketching, sorting, noticing—so children return to class regulated and ready to go again.

DAILY

Guided reading and writing happen in small groups with targeted instruction. Pupils practise with the right level of stretch; conferencing makes next steps visible. Progress is steady, confidence grows.

LITERACY

Tailored English language support meets learners where they are, while daily German connects children to their host country. Home languages are welcomed and celebrated. The goal is confident communicators in more than one language.

TOGETHER

Lunch is social and supervised; play is inclusive and active. Friendships cross classes and cultures by design. Children head back in having moved, laughed and been part of something bigger than themselves.

in numbers and systems

CREATE
perform and move

Maths workshops build fluency and problem-solving through modelling, manipulatives and reasoning. STEM sessions add hands-on investigation so concepts stick. Pupils learn to explain not just the answer, but the thinking that got them there.

LITERACY

Specialist teachers develop technique and confidence in studios, on stage and on the pitch. Practice is purposeful and performances are frequent enough to feel real, not rare. Children discover new interests and places they can excel.

Choice without
PRESSURE

Exit tickets, journals or a quick share-out capture the day’s learning. Pupils set a small goal for tomorrow—one thing to revisit, refine or try differently. It builds ownership and a visible learning arc.

REFLECTION

Clubs, arts rehearsals and sport extend the day for those who want more. Options stay age-appropriate and broad, from coding to choir to mini-league fixtures. Children go home tired in the right way—proud of what they’ve done.
