COMMUNITY EVENTS
Throughout the school year, the ISD community enjoys a variety of events, most of which have been part of the ISD heritage for many years.

They are planned and produced by students, staff, and many parent volunteers, and they all reflect the rich diversity and multiculturalism of the ISD community.

INTERNATIONAL MARKETS
Our popular monthly markets where parents and selected partners display and sell food and speciality items that reflect their talents, passions, and cultural heritage. Joining the volunteer team that advertises, plans, and organises the event is also a wonderful way to get to know new people.
WELCOME BACK PICNIC

Our annual Welcome Back Picnic takes place a few weeks into each new school year, bringing the community together after the long summer break.

Traditionally held at the ISD Fields, this is a great opportunity for our families, faculty and staff, and students to (re)connect with each other in a relaxed setting, and to celebrate our international community.

THE INTERNATIONAL FEST

SATURDAY 30 MAY 2026, from 12:00 to 17:00

The International FEST is our largest community gathering, and has been an important ISD tradition since 1980. The Elementary School campus is converted into a tented village with over 30 countries sharing their culture, gastronomy, tourism attractions, and plenty of fun activities.

FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY
We're a school and our students always come first! An array of activities is offered around the FEST to keep children of all ages enthralled and entertained.
THE FLAG PARADE
Celebrate the diversity of ISD and enjoy our Flag Parade. Experience our sense of internationalism up close, as our students parade through the FEST showing their pride in their own culture(s) and respect for the cultures of their friends.
VISITORS ARE WELCOME
Visitors of all ages are welcome to come and join the fun! Please bring a form of photo ID and cash or a card to buy tickets for food, drinks, and activities. We look forward to welcoming you to FEST!

The FEST is eagerly anticipated by students, staff, parents, alumni, and neighbours from the surrounding community. Over 2000 visitors come to ISD to celebrate the rich diversity of cultures from which we come, while enjoying a uniquely international melting pot of flavours, sights and sounds.
