As well as helping new students find their way around our campus, explaining schedules, making introductions to classmates and teachers, sharing information about sports and activities, and answering general questions about school life, they also organise social activities, such as outdoor movie nights, pizza lunches, bowling trips, visits to the local Christmas markets, ice-skating and more! |
DUKE OF EDINBURGH
The Duke of Edinburgh Award is one of the world’s leading youth achievement programmes. Aimed at equipping young people for life, the Award challenges participants based on their own abilities, and pushes them to find their limits and recognise their achievements.
INTERNATIONAL HONOUR SOCIETY
The International Honour Society (IHS) is a student-led group whose various sub-committees are dedicated to planning and hosting events for students and the wider ISD community, with an emphasis on academic support and learning opportunities.

Among other projects, the IHS organises the annual community TedX event, the ISD careers fair, the Grade 10 IBDP Fair, and the Freshers' Fair, as well as student support podcasts. Membership in the IHS is open to students in grades 9 to 12. |
LIONS TV
An opportunity for students in grades 6 to 12 to develop broadcast journalism skills, including writing, presenting, directing, and editing. Lions TV is offered as an after-school activity.

An engaging way to increase your knowledge of international issues while learning to make policies which reflect solutions to global problems.

THE PAPER CUT
An opportunity for students in grades 6 to 8 to learn what it takes to run a newspaper. As well as learning basic journalistic skills, students have the chance to work in cross-grade teams to develop their writing, illustration, and graphic design skills. The Paper Cut is offered as an elective subject in grades 6 to 8, but all students are invited to submit interesting and relevant stories.
ISD SOUND & LIGHTS
The Sound and Lights team (grades 6 and above) provides technical support for live events on campus, including theatre performances, concerts, assemblies and our annual International Fest.

STUDENT ATHLETIC ADVISORY BOARD (SAAB)
The Student Athletic Advisory Board (SAAB) is the "student consultative voice" for ISD's Sports and Activities programme. They provide valuable feedback to the school on the current programme, as well as ideas for future improvements to create the best possible experience for students at ISD.
STUDENT COUNCILS
Our Elementary School and Senior School student councils are responsible for addressing issues and concerns brought to them by their fellow students. Councils meet once a week with members of the leadership team to raise issues and discuss solutions.
WORLD CITIZEN PROJECTS
Students aged over 16 may engage in five World Citizen projects. Each of these projects is partnered with a local NGO to ensure the service is worthwhile.
THE YEARBOOK TEAM
The ISD yearbook is a celebration of school and community events and achievements over the past year. The student-led yearbook team chooses the theme for the yearbook and the accompanying signature book, take and select photos, design page templates, and work with the Marketing and Communications team to produce a finished product they can be proud of.
