The ISD Community, Once Again in Action
What does the ISD community look like in action? This weekend at the Düsseldorf Kö Meile, the answer was everywhere.
The Kö Meile may be a running event at its core, but our involvement is about much more than running. It is about promoting active lifestyles, bringing people together and being an active part of the city ISD has called home since 1968.
And our community showed up.
Students, parents, faculty, staff and alumni volunteered throughout the event, building running arches, spray-painting course signs, handing out bibs, helping with the confetti cannons and, importantly, distributing doughnuts to finishers.
On the course, we were equally proud to see ISD runners of all ages competing, from our youngest participants in the Bambini run to students, parents, colleagues and alumni taking on the adult races.
For us, days like this bring our ISD Core Values to life: Heart. Hunger. Courage. Pride.
Heart in giving our time to our community.
Hunger in getting involved and giving it our all.
Courage in stepping up to the start line and trying something new.
Pride in representing ISD and the city we are proud to call home.
Since 1968, ISD has been part of Düsseldorf. Today, our community represents families from around the world, but Düsseldorf is the place that brings us together. We often talk about putting the “D” back in ISD, and this is exactly what we mean: being visible, involved and connected to the city around us.
Our international community is unique, and seeing students, parents, colleagues and alumni come together like this is a powerful reminder of what makes ISD special.

We’ll be back next year, hopefully with even more runners, more volunteers and plenty more ISD Heart, Hunger, Courage and Pride.
