SENIOR SCHOOL

We are a progressive and innovative school and always seek to improve our educational practice to better serve the needs of our students. We believe that students learn best when they are happy, secure, and that education is improved when teachers and students work together and share responsibility for learning.

We want to prepare our students to become autonomous in their learning and driven to contribute to their communities in positive and meaningful ways. At ISD, our priority is ensuring that every student is empowered to discover and connect with their individual interests and talents, so that they can thrive at school and beyond.

The International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) forms the basis of the curriculum for students in grades 6-10. Grade 11 and 12 students follow the IB Diploma Programme (DP) curriculum, leading to the IB Diploma and allowing application to universities throughout the world. Flexible provision is ensured because we have supplementary elective courses in grades 6-10 and students in grades 11 and 12 may take individual IB certificates instead of the whole IB diploma. We also offer our own ISD high school diploma (HSD), which is accredited by NEASC and CIS.

At the ISD Senior School, we have an extensive extra-curricular and sports programme, including almost 30 activities and more than 50 sports teams operating throughout the senior school. With modern facilities and state-of-the-art digital technologies, ISD’s senior school is a vibrant learning community.
