The state of North Rhine-Westphalia runs a series of annual mini-tournaments in a multitude of sports for middle and high school aged children. These are short, one-day events which take place during school hours. The winners of each one-day round usually advance to another round, until a “state champion” is determined. The state champion then gets to play for the national championship, held each year in Berlin. Please note that parents may be responsible for transporting their children to the events.
Sports: Table Tennis, Judo, Track and Field, Soccer, Badminton, Tennis, Volleyball, Gymnastics, Basketball, Chess, Swimming, Rowing and Hockey
Venues of Competition: Throughout the Düsseldorf region and the state of North Rhine-Westphalia
The Coordinator of City Championships registers the participating teams. Students do not have any additional paperwork to fill out.
