Beyond academics > Centres of excellence Life-long learning and the pursuit of excellence went hand in hand with the creation of the four Centres of Excellence in the Senior School.
The Centres are expertly designed and built to relate to the students and to motivate them to join in, to understand, to challenge, to exchange, to share and to translate their learning and thinking into action and creativity.
The VISUAL ARTS CENTRE We live in a world where the speed of change is increasing and where the visual overload is sometimes paralyzing. Learning to see and choosing what to look at or what to look for as well as what to create, is of paramount importance.
The PERFORMING ARTS CENTRE The DESIGN TECHNOLOGY CENTRE The INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY CENTRE It comprises a host of different computer rooms both for class work and accessible during the entire school day for individual student research and computer work.![]()
Centres of excellence
This Centre with rooms for 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional art has become the hub of learning and creativity for painters, sculptors, and all Senior School students engaging in drawing, in pottery, and in various other media.
This Centre comprises a theatre studio, two large and various smaller music rooms. Students not only learn to appreciate the tremendous cultural riches of our world expressed in theatre and in music but they acquire the skills and the self-confidence to perform some of it.
This Centre comprises specialist rooms for all stages of the design process (a computer lab for computer assisted design, rooms with various machines for work with resistant and with non-resistant materials). This process very much mirrors the thinking process required in every discipline and also puts emphasis on reaching a finished product that corresponds to the intention and to the original need or idea.
Information technology skills are recognized as key assets and they are consistently fostered in this large centre.
